GAO REPORTS
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) publishes reports to fulfill its mission to “help improve the performance and ensure the accountability of the federal government for the benefit of the American people.”
IG REPORTS
The military Inspector General (IG) in America has traditionally served as "an extension of the eyes, ears, and conscience of the Commander." Pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, "the Inspector General of the Department of Defense shall . . . be the principal adviser to the Secretary of Defense for matters relating to the prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse in the programs and operations of the Department." DCVC has posted reports from the IG concerning the current inefficiencies in the DoD acquisition system.
